The Lazy Italian, Kinsale

Stopped by an amazing establishment called The Lazy Italian. I stumbled upon it completely by accident and was drawn in by the striking colour scheme. Upon entering, I found a cosy and stylish interior, all curved entrances and graceful shadows, and a secluded wine garden. Naturally, I opted for the wine garden.
After I sat down, I was handed a menu, a mission statement and a list of specials which immediately caught my eye thanks to the words “fresh seafood.” I opted for two starters: a salmon, rocket and ricotta crostini and razor clams dusted with Parmesan. I had never tried either before and so both were delicious surprises. The salmon melded perfectly with the smooth ricotta and the clams barely needed chewing they were so delicate.

My main arrived soon after, as did my second bottle of wine. A heaping plate of fresh langoustine pasta with homemade tomato sauce and noodle. It was like receiving a warm hug from the chef, with the rich sauce and the al dente bite of the noodle complementing the creamy texture of the langoustines. Delicious food, environment and company, I was sorry that I had to leave.

Powerful crostini.

Razor clams that barely required chewing.

My first foray into Languistines. Hot damn.

Not much 'lazy' about this place.

Gorgeous outdoor seating area.
